Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl Presented by Stifel

3:30 PM EST (ABC) – Washington State (7-5) vs Fresno State (9-4)

    SPREAD: Fresno -4.5

    TOTAL: 53

Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl screams entertainment. What’s the most entertaining thing you can ask for in a football game? Points, hard hits, big man touchdowns, and more points. I think we can easily rely on the Jake Haener led offense to carry the load here against a Cougars defense who will be without their three starting linebackers. Washington State’s quarterback Cameron Ward will be without two of his starting receivers, but that will be counteracted by the Bulldogs missing a member of their already weakish secondary that allows nearly 12 yards a completion.

    New Mexico Bowl

    7:30 PM EST (ABC) – SMU (7-5) @ BYU (7-5)

    SPREAD: SMU -4.5

    TOTAL: 65

This is the final game for BYU as an independent team before joining the Big 12 next year. Seems like it should be a storybook ending, but starting quarterback Jaren Hall will likely be sidelined for this one. That does not bode well for the Cougars, but on the other hand they have the experience. This will be Mustang’s head coach Rhett Lashlee’s first bowl game as a head coach, and SMU’s first bowl game since 2019. Compare that to this being the Cougar’s 5th year in a row playing in a bowl game and head coach Kalani Sitake having a 3-2 bowl record. The quarterback situation scares me for BYU, but I am leaning on the side of experience and Sitake will empty out the playbook, use multiple quarterbacks, and be a headache for the SMU defense all day.

    My Play: BYU +4.5
