Japan are not an easy opponent & certainly are capable of posing challenge to any team, but the wealth of experience & skill in the German side should be too much for them to handle for a full 90 minutes. Germany have lost only 1 of their previous 8 matches, though have also won only 2 of those, with a long string of draws on their recent record. They’ll look to end a mediocre run of form & start things out atop Group E entering the group’s first match as favorites over the Japanese outfit. A blend of fresh talent & tried-and-true experience for the Germans & a deep bench gives them everything they need to make a deep run in the tournament. Japan are a team which concede plenty of shots & the opportunities should be there today for the likes of Gnabry, Havertz, & Musiala. Despite a run of low-scoring & goalless draws at the World Cup recently, I expect the something more akin to the exciting France v. Australia match we witnessed yesterday.
