World ranked #2, though lesser World Cup favorites, Belgium take on a Canada team on the rise, though the Red Devils still enter the match as favorites, which as we’ve seen already on a few occasions doesn’t necessarily mean it will be easy for them. After a 0-0 draw in the group’s opener this morning between Morocco & Croatia Belgium will be both confident & looking to take the lead in Group F in what may be their last World Cup before they enter a period of rebuilding after a decade of coming up short for their “Golden Generation.” Led by talisman & Man City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne, the Belgians are well-rounded with a solid balance of attacking & defending highlighted more by experience than the youthful talent of squads like Spain & England. I expect Belgium to be on the front-foot for most of the match though I’m not sure they’ve got the same firepower as their European counterparts to put up 4-5 goals like we’ve seen with England, France, & Spain, & Canada will look to stay in the match as long as they can in hopes of stealing a point heading into subsequent matches with opponents they’ll feel they’ve got a better chance against.
