In this non-conference matchup, the Saints are coming off a short break after losing at home to the Ravens on Monday night. On the flip side Pittsburgh is coming off a bye week. This will only be Andy Dalton’s second road game so far this year- the first being in Arizona where he threw back-to-back pick-6’s in the first half.
I think Dalton has done enough to keep his starting role for now but playing in Pittsburgh will be a challenge for the former Bengal. Young Pittsburgh QB Kenny Pickett has had 2 weeks to prepare for this home game, so now is the time to start taking a shot a second place in the division.
The Saints’ defense doesn’t force many turnovers but ranks 5th in the league for TD’s allowed in the red zone, leading me to believe New Orleans PK Wil Lutz will have his work cut out for him. On the other side the Steelers have T.J. Watt back this week which might make the difference for Pittsburgh.
I think the Steelers take advantage of home field and edge out the Saints in low-scoring game.
