    Denver Nuggets (7-3) @ Indiana Pacers (5-5)
IND +5.5 – The Nuggets are the better team, but Indiana matches up fairly well with Denver. There is no achilles heal for Jokic, as the Denver big man is averaging near a triple double through 10 games, but Myles Turner is about as good as it gets. Turner will keep Jokic busy on the defensive end as well.

Indiana has the length on the wings to try and cause offensive issues for Denver. At home sitting at .500, I like Indiana to cover tonight. Haliburton has been superb to begin the season averaging over 20 ppg and just shy of 10 apg. Pacers are young & they compete. On a Wednesday night game in Indianapolis, I don’t expect Denver to come out firing either.

    PICK: IND +5.5

    Portland Trailblazers (7-3) @ Charlotte Hornets (3-8)
POR -3.5 – The Trailblazers are one of the best stories in the NBA this season that nobody is talking about. After star player Damian Lillard once again pledged his commitment to Portland, and his goals of winning a championship on the team that drafted him, the Blazers have been stellar sitting at 7-3 through 10 games.

Dame is doing what Dame does, averaging 29 ppg so far, but the emergence of Anfernee Simons has been huge for Portland. The combo guard has replaced the role of CJ McCollum after his departure in a trade to New Orleans before the deadline last year, and has been excellent in doing so. His efficiency hasn’t been what CJ brought, but he’s putting up similar volume averaging over 22 ppg.

The Hornets on the other hand, have just been bad. Without Lamelo Ball and Gordon Hayward again, I’m not expecting Charlotte to turn things around anytime soon. Relying on Kelly Oubre and Terry Rozier isn’t going to win you a ton of ball games. Portland covers on the road.

    PICK: POR -3.5

New York Knicks (5-5) @ Brooklyn Nets (4-7)
BKN -3.5 – After a turmoil filled off-season with trade rumors and organization drama, the Nets didn’t slow down once the regular season began. Less than a month into the season, the Nets have fired Steve Nash and suspended Kyrie Irving.

With the announcement of a new head coach in Brooklyn today, the Jacque Vaughn era is officially underway. And perhaps there is new life in Brooklyn. The Nets are 2-1 behind the leadership of KD since the suspension of Irving. Durant will have to lead the show offensively until his co-star returns to action.

The feud between KD and Knicks fans is real, and Durant loves to play the Knicks, specifically at The Garden. Tonight’s game is not in New York City, but I still expect a little extra from KD tonight (we’ll see him in player props later on).

The Knicks on the other hand are showing improvements, and perhaps the arrival of Jalen Brunson has helped them become more of a well rounded team. Julius Randle and RJ Barrett still lead the charge offensively for the Knicks, but I’m not convinced it’s enough to beat Durant. Betting on Brooklyn has been less than satisfying this season, but anticipate the Nets handling New York fairly easy tonight to kick off the Jacque Vaughn era.

    PICK: BKN -3.5

    Cleveland Cavaliers (8-2) @ Sacramento Kings (3-6)
CLE -4 – A lot of people are going to overthink this line. Don’t be a lot of people.

The Cavs are for real. Off to a hot start with the addition of Donovan Mitchell, it’s becoming pretty clear he was the piece they needed. Last season, the Cavs were one of the better storylines in the NBA, as not too many expected them to do what they did. The one piece they were missing was an elite 3 level scorer. Mitchell fits right into that piece.

After the NBA took a day off, the Cavs head to Sacramento, so I guess that is the reasoning for the soft line? Not sure, but Cleveland covers this one pretty easily.

    PICK: CLE -4
