Philadelphia Flyers @ New York Rangers
PHI +1.5 (-135) – Both starting tenders – Carter Hart (2.31 GAA, 0.94 SV%) and Igor Shesterkin (2.55 GAA, 0.91 SV%) – are off to excellent starts and are expected to start in net in this game. In the past, the games are usually tight and hard hitting for these Metropolitan Division rivals. Philly has been a cover machine so far this season (87.5%, 2nd highest in the NHL). I’m tempted to go with the Under but think it’s too risky at 6 so let’s go with the safer bet of the Flyers staying within one goal of the Rangers at -135.

Vegas Golden Knights @ Washington Capitals
VGS/WSH U6.5 (-120) – The Golden Knights have been under 7 goals in each of their past 5 games and the Caps have been under 7 goals in each of their last 3 games after tightening up some inconsistent defensive play earlier in the season. Washington played last night in Carolina and will be without top-6 forward T.J. Oshie so not expecting an aggressive style of play from the Caps tonight. This is a game where the Over/Under number seems so too high so I’m going with the Under 6.5 at -120.

New York Islanders @ Chicago Blackhawks
CHI ML (+155) & 1P O1.5 (-140) – This seems like a trap game for the Islanders as they come into Chicago. The Isles have won 3 games in a row while the Hawks have lost 3 games in a row (all by one goal). The Over 1.5 goals in 1st period has hit 11 games in a row at the United Center so we’re rolling with that trend (-140) and Chicago to pull off the upset on home ice (+155).
