    Indiana Pacers (3-4) @ Brooklyn Nets (1-5)
IND +7.5 – The Pacers played at Brooklyn on Saturday night, defeating the Nets 125-116. The Nets look atrocious to start the season. After Saturday’s loss, reports said the Nets locker room was that of a graveyard – as if a teams season had just ended. The Nets early struggles are deeper than a “slow start” after a flurry of off-season rumors.

Indiana, on the other hand, looks promising. Led by Tyrese Haliburton, the Pacers sit a game back of .500 and have plenty to look forward to. Rookie 6th man Bennedict Mathurin has been a pleasant surprise to start the season – averaging 21.0 ppg in just 27.7 minutes per game. Most importantly, and contrary to the Nets, they compete at a high level.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Brookyln figure it out enough to bounce back with a victory, but 7.5 points is too much for a young & hungry team like the Pacers. Ben Simmons is also questionable for the Nets tonight.

    PICK: IND +7.5

    Atlanta Hawks (4-2) @ Toronto Raptors (3-3)
ATL +3 – Despite being off to a 4-2 start, the Hawks haven’t played great. There has been a slight adjustment to adding star combo guard Dejounte Murray, but they have figured out a way to win ball games.

Despite Trae Young averaging 31.0 ppg, he’s struggled with efficiency, shooting around 41% through 6 games. With John Collins and Clint Capela holding their end of the bargain defensively, and the plethora of options offensively, the Hawks are still a threat. Toronto is 3-3 despite the MVP level play of Paskal Siakam. I do not love the matchup for him with Atlanta.. and Fred Vanvleet is questionable for tonights game.

Even if Vanvleet plays tonight, I like the Hawks to cover, and even potentially win on the road in Toronto.

    PICK: ATL +3

    Memphis Grizzlies (4-2) @ Utah Jazz (5-2)
MEM -2 – Ja Morant is questionable tonight for Memphis – and if he plays, this line will most likely move to somewhere around 4 or 5. However, it’s well documented how succesful the Grizzlies have been in games Morant does not suit up.

The Jazz are off to a great start and have been one of the better stories a few weeks into the season. However, I’m not buying the hype. They’re young & hungry.. but they’re without a star, despite Markkanen’s solid start.

Dillon Brooks and Desmond Bane would both make an argument as Utah’s best player. So, even without Morant, Memphis is my favorite spread on the board tonight.

    PICK: MEM -2

-Kyrie Irving (BKN) under 30.5 points (-121)
