Game Analysis & Picks
Tonight’s Sunday Night Football matchup marks the return of Tua Tagovailoa under center for the Miami Dolphins after being knocked unconscious against the Bengals just four days after suffering what appeared to be an undiagnosed concussion against the Bills. Prior to his injury, which cost him the last two games, Tua was leading the league with a 109.9 passer rating, driven largely by his six touchdown performance against the Baltimore Ravens.
The Steelers come to Miami following a surprise victory over Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Bucs, with their rookie QB, Kenny Pickett, expected to make the start after dealing with a concussion of his own this past week.
With the Dolphins returning to full strength at home and getting their top signal caller back, this game appears to be theirs for the taking. The Steelers have failed to build on the success of their run game from 2021, with Najee Harris looking nothing like he did during his standout rookie campaign, which puts the Steelers chances of winning squarely in Picketts hands.
For the game, I’m taking the under and expecting the Dolphins to cover the 7.5 point spread, driven by multiple turnovers for the Steelers and an offensive attack led by the Dolphins two-headed monster at WR.
– Kenny Pickett (PIT) – Over 0.5 interceptions (-186)
– Jaylen Waddle (MIA) – Over 63.5 receiving yards (-113)
