Game Analysis & Picks
What are the Chicago Bears doing? They’ve scored 29 points in two games and haven’t led QB Justin Fields showcase his arm talent. Fields has only attempted 28 passes in two games. The lack of production from his wide recevier group doesn’t help the cause. Darnell Mooney was expected to have a breakout year but hasn’t been able to find his stride and fill the stat sheet.
The Texans are looking for their first win this season. Houston has played well in both games but haven’t been able to hold fourth quarter leads in this early season. Safe to say the public has been surprised by Houston’s ability to stay in games and be competitive versus opononets. If this Texans defense can have another solid performance being able to contain Fields athletcism in the pocket, this might be a long day for Chicago. The only reason I would be hesitant to back the Bears is their lack of offensive weapons. However, I can’t imagine Justin Fields attempting less than 20 passes to try to get some momentum in a stale offense.
The Bears beat a NFC contender in the 49ers and were steam-rolled by Green Bay, but they are battle tested. If they can find balance in their offense and rely heavily on the run they have a chance to win this game. Although the Texans are the better team on paper, look for the Bears to step up in their first home performance. I like Chicago to bounce back after last weeks loss and cover the (-2.5) with the Over 40.5.
