2:20pm | Colorado Rockies @ Chicago Cubs | Feltner (COL) Assad (CHC) | CHC ML (-127) |
Philadelphia Phillies (Falter) @ Atlanta Braves (Strider)
ATL -1.5 (-110) – The Giants had some rare success against Strider last week with 9 hits but still only managed 3 runs (2 ER). That is the most hits he has given up in a game this season and over 10% of the 85 hits he has allowed over 125 innings this year. Both of these teams are currently in Wild Card contention and the Braves are going for the series sweep this afternoon. I’m expecting a bounce back from Strider and the Braves to sweep and taking ATL -1.5 (-110).
Miami Marlins (Alcantara) @ Washington Nationals (Sanchez)
MIA -1.5 (-113) – Alcantara was also a tough luck loser last week giving up 2 runs over 7 innings. Alcantara has been a horse all year for the Marlins, he passed 200 innings in his last start and is on pace to finish the year with an ERA under 2.50. He should be on the short list of NL Cy Young candidates this year. Washington is 3-7 in their last 10 and on their way to losing 100 games this season. Continuing the bounce back theme, I’m going with Alcantara and the fish and taking MIA -1.5 (-113)
