Game Analysis & Picks
Plenty of fanfare on tap in Seattle tonight, as Russell Wilson returns to the Home of the 12th Man as an opponent for the first time in his career. From a pure roster standpoint, Wilson’s situation is brighter in Denver, with a stronger offensive line and one of the NFL’s best RB tandems. It remains to be seen if the WR room is an upgrade for Wilson, as DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett have long been a formidable duo.
For Seattle, their offensive line ranks among the league’s worst, and their featured QB competition between Geno Smith and Drew Lock, is arguably the least interesting storyline in the NFL. With stud rookie RB Kenneth Walker III iffy to play as he recovers from hernia surgery, Rashaad Penny is likely to take the bulk of work for Seattle. The Broncos clearly possess more firepower on their roster from top to bottom, and for the spread to be within a touchdown with a perennial Pro-Bowler in Wilson, facing a career-backup in Geno Smith, this looks like a no-brainer. Let’s Ride! With the Broncos against the spread (-6.5) and the Over (43.5), as I don’t believe Denver will struggle with Wilson in this setting.
