Chicago White Sox (Giolito) @ Baltimore Orioles (Watkins)
BAL ML (+110) – The AL East is so stacked that the Orioles are 4th in the division, despite being 6 games over .500, at 64-58. While Baltimore has largely exceeded expectations this season, Chicago has failed to run away with the AL Central as many had projected. This is a clash of 2 ballclubs that find themselves on the outside looking in for the final Wildcard spot in the AL. Name recognition aside, Spencer Watkins has vastly outperformed Lucas Giolito over the past month. There’s value the underdog O’s at Camden Yards tonight at +110.
Toronto Blue Jays (Berrios) @ Boston Red Sox (Bello)
O9.5 (-105) & TOR -1.5 (+110) – Bello and Berrios have the 2 highest ERAs of any starting pitchers today, and both these teams can hit. The over tonight at Fenway seems so obvious it almost feels like a trap, but I expect the Blue Jays to tee off on Bello and Rich Hill, who is expected to be the next man up in the pen for the Red Sox. The Blue Jays have won 5 of 6 and should keep it rolling tonight. I’m on board with the Toronto runline (+110) and the over (9.5 runs) in this one.
Milwaukee Brewers (Houser) @ Los Angeles Dodgers (Heaney)
MIL +1.5 (+105) & MIL ML (+205) – The 85-win Dodgers have the best record in baseball, and seem to be heavy favorites on a nightly basis. If there is ever a time you’re feeling optimistic about a Dodgers’ opponent, the betting value will almost always be there. This Brewers squad is a scrappy bunch that find themselves on the cusp of a Wildcard berth. My favorite play in this one is Milwaukee’s runline (+105) as underdogs, but I’m also interested in the moneyline upside (+205).
