Tampa Bay Rays (Springs) @ New York Yankees (Cortes)
NYY F5 3-way (-120)- The Yankees are favorites today at -175 ML with Nestor Cortes on the hill. He has been cruising this year with a 2.67 ERA over 118 innings this season along with a 9.58 K/9. The Yankees are in the midst of a 2-8 skid which has been rare for them this year but they look to Cortes to get them back on track. Going back to July 1st the Yankees have the 2nd best offense in the MLB behind the Dodgers with a 125 wRC+. Tonight I’m rolling with the Yankees in the first 5 at -120.
Baltimore Orioles (Kremer) @ Toronto Blue Jays (Manoah)
TOR -1.5 (-103)- Blue Jays are heavily favored today at -215 ML and have Alek Manoah on the mound who has enjoyed a breakout season this year. He currently has a 2.56 ERA over 137 innings and keeps the ball in the yard with a 0.79 HR/9. Dean Kremer is coming off a rocky start against Boston last week where he surrendered 4 ER in 5 innings. Kremer also had a 6.94 ERA for July. The Blue Jays and Orioles have produced almost identical offensive results since July 1st with a 113 wRC+ and 111 wRC+ respectively. Tonight I’m going with Manoah and the Blue Jays offense which can always explode and taking TOR -1.5 at -103.
Los Angeles Dodgers (Pepoit) @ Milwaukee Brewers (Woodruff)
MIL F5 3-way (+100)- The Dodgers are red hot winning 16 of their last 18 games. But this is baseball and tonight they face Brandon Woodruff who has the ability to shut anyone down. The Dodgers counter with rookie Ryan Pepoit who has 20 MLB innings under his belt. He currently has a 3.92 ERA but a 5.24 FIP. He has a 10.02 K/9 which is promising and according to Fangraphs his best pitch is his changeup. Even though the Dodgers offense is currently hitting everything in sight the Brewers are currently favored at -120 ML which I believe speaks to the discrepancy in the pitching matchup. I don’t want to give the Dodgers bats a chance against the Brewers bullpen so I’m doubling down on Woodruff and going with F5 3-way at +100.
