Miami Marlins (Cabrera) @ Philadelphia Phillies (Gibson)
MIA F5 (+132) & NRFI (-130)- The Marlins and the Phillies wrap up their three game series this afternoon as the Marlins look to avoid the sweep. The Phillies are on a nice hot home win streak but I like Cabrera and the Marlins to stop them this afternoon. Edward Cabrera is getting his 5th start for the Marlins and has been off to a nice start boosting a 1.06WHIP. The Marlins have been an interesting team to bet on this year and I would certainly never take them for the whole game. I like the NRFI in this play because no one on the Phillies has ever faced off against Cabrera and Gibson can get it done. I like the Marlins here though as he has struggled with this Marlins lineup. Today, I’m betting MIA F5 (+132) & NRFI (-130).
Texas Rangers (Ragans) @ Houston Astros (Valdez)
HOU -1.5 (-135), O8R (-118) & Valdez O6.5Ks (-127)- The Houston Astros are looking to bounce back after a tough loss to their division and cross-state rivals the Texas Rangers. This game provides another matchup in which a pitcher is facing a team for the first time and only his second start to the season, Cole Ragans. Cole had a great 1st start resulting in a 0.00ERA however he’s facing a much tougher lineup this afternoon. I’m confident that this game like the series will provide runs. On the other side of the mound, we have Framber Valdez who continues to have an All-Star season. Valdez has had historical success against the Rangers and I like that to continue this afternoon. I’m betting HOU -1.5(-135), Over 8R (-118), and Valdez O6.5Ks (-127).
Baltimore Orioles (Voth) @ Boston Red Sox Winckowski (BOS)
BAL F5 (+114) & NRFI (+105)- The Baltimore Orioles head to historical Fenway Park to face off against the Red Sox. Red Sox have been doing a great job of finding ways to lose and continue dropping in the Wild Card standings. I have no idea how Baltimore is not favored in this matchup so grab this line early, even take them ML (last I checked it’s still +115). There is nothing special about either of these pitchers; yes, NRFI is a risk but quite rewarding. Baltimore got a lucky day off yesterday and the Sox are coming off a tough series sweep to the Braves. I’m all in on Baltimore, I’m going to even add BAL ML for tonight. I’ll also be betting BAL F5 (+114) and NRFI (+105).
